In her words, Iowa’s Wahlin on basketball tour, Part VIII

We made it to Paris!  What an awesome city!

With the help of Bethany's skill of speaking French, we made it to the Sacre-Coeur for a great view of the city from the outside.  We walked around the inside of the church and saw all the different altars.

After the tour of the church, we found some ice cream at the Montmarte shopping area before heading back to the hotel.  The entire travel party headed out to the River Seine to see all the famous sites on the river.  We were able to see the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Hotel des Invalides (where Napoleon is buried) and the outside of the Louvre.  We couldn't stop snapping pictures of all the sights!

The highlight of the night was after the boat tour.  Melissa, Kathryn, Bethany, Jaime, Kelly and I went to the park in front of the Eiffel Tower around 10 p.m. to catch the light show.  We all sat in the park and couldn't believe what we were seeing.

I just want to say a quick thank you to all those that have made it possible for me and the team to experience these world famous landmarks.  It's hard putting into words what exactly what we are experiencing.  Today was one of those days I will never forget!
