It's always fun to write this blog after a win! We are on the way home right now from our game and the Hawkeyes came out on top, 90-53. We had a great size advantage and were able to get the ball inside. Morgan Johnson had 25 points on 11-of-16 shooting. I was proud of the team for playing with more intensity and hustle on the defensive end. We also moved the ball extremely well and were able to find the open person.
The day started out with breakfast at the hotel and sightseeing in Bratislava. We saw Bratislava Castle and walked around to the Old Town Hall. After our sightseeing trip, we fueled up for the second game of the trip with pregame meal in the hotel. We had quite the spread with chicken, pasta, vegetables, potatoes, salad, fruit, fish, sandwiches and plenty of desserts to choose from.
We had about a two hour bus ride from Bratislava to the town where we were playing the game. The drive wasn't inconvenient because it gave us a chance to see the Slovakian countryside.
We are all still pretty excited after our big win tonight. I know we aren't in season yet, but the future is definitely bright for the Hawkeyes!
We leave Bratislava Sunday morning and will bus to Vienna. We will be in Vienna for two days then hit the final spot of our trip, Paris.
Talk to everyone tomorrow!
