Here's the Iowa-Iowa State football contract

Iowa State and Iowa have an iron-clad football contract through 2017 with one gigantic out clause for both schools.
As colleague Marc Morehouse wrote this weekend, the shifting landscape of athletic conferences could end the instate rivalry between Iowa and Iowa State. Article 13 of the contract states "should either school's Conference adds additional conference football games, that school shall be be entitled to request that the parties seek to renegotiate the contract terms for the remaining contract years ..."
That could mean if the Big Ten goes to nine league games (or if the Big 12 sticks together and goes to a nine-game round-robin), the annual clash could go by the wayside.
