Dec. 10, 2009 1:48 pm
It's got to be exciting every year for the Iowa Hawkeyes when they play the Triple-A Iowa Cubs in an exhibition baseball game. Probably even more so this time around.
It was announced Thursday that the Hawkeyes and Cubs will play their annual game April 7 at Principal Park in Des Moines First pitch is 6:35 p.m.
It'll be a seven-inning game. The I-Cubs will be managed by former Chicago Cubs Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg.
"We are excited about the opportunity to play the Iowa Cubs again," said Iowa Coach Jack Dahm. "This will be extra special with Hall-of-Famer Ryne Sandberg managing. We appreciate the relationship we have with the Iowa Cubs and everything that they've done for us."
Tickets for the game will be $7 ($4 children) for general admission, $10 for Reserved Grandstand and Field Box seats and $12 for Club Box seats.
