1. Five players in this game are coming off double-doubles. They are Melsahn Basabe, Gabe Olaseni and Jarrod Uthoff of Iowa and Dustin Hogue and DeAndre Kane of Iowa State.
2. This is Iowa's first true road game of the season. Iowa State has played just one, at Brigham Young.
3. Iowa State is 1 of 14 unbeaten teams in Division I, and 1 of 14 teams that has won NCAA tournament games in each of the previous two seasons.
4. Only eight of the last 24 games in the series have been decided by eight points or less.

6. Iowa's Fran McCaffery has been a college coach since 1982. Iowa State's Fred Hoiberg has been one since 2010.

9. Mike Couzens, ESPNU's play-by-play man tonight, is the radio/TV play-by-play man for the Fort Wayne TinCaps of minor-league baseball's Midwest League.
