Couch potato: Today’s top TV games

Today's top television offerings for college football fans:

1. Iowa at Northwestern (11 a.m., ESPN) - Local interest, and all.

2. Iowa State at Colorado (12:30 p.m., FCS Central) - FCS Central is not basic cable, I'm told.

3. Oregon at California (6:30 p.m., Versus) - If Cal loses, the students in Berkeley will hand out a lot of pamphlets to protest.

4. Georgia at Auburn (2:30 p.m., KGAN) - No one asked Gene Chizik about players being paid when he coached at Iowa State.

5. Penn State at Ohio State (2:30 p.m., KCRG) - The first 400 wins were easy for Joe Paterno. No. 401? Not so much.

6. San Diego State at TCU (3 p.m., Versus) - Yes, Versus has the No. 3 team in the country at 3 p.m., the No. 1 team at 6:30.

7. Indiana at Wisconsin (11 a.m., ESPN2) - Don't expect the Hoosiers to hold Wisconsin out of the end zone for 57 minutes.

8. Kansas State at Missouri (11:30 a.m., Comcast) - They're both going to bowls. As is every other team.

9. Oklahoma State at Texas (7 p.m., KCRG) - The last thing to drop so far, so fast as the Longhorns, was a broken elevator.

10. Killer Squid (11 a.m,, Discovery) - Murderous mollusks in Mexico's Sea of Cortez.
