IOWA CITY — Another Hawkeye is headed to the Steel City.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have selected Iowa defensive tackle Yahya Black in the fifth round of the NFL draft with the No. 164th overall pick.
Black is the second Hawkeye drafted this year, following running back Kaleb Johnson, who also was selected by the Steelers. Black is the sixth Hawkeye defensive lineman to be drafted since 2020.
The Marshall, Minn., native heads to the NFL after starting the last two seasons for Iowa at defensive tackle. The two-time all-Big Ten honorable mention had five tackles for loss, two quarterback pressures and a forced fumble in 2024. His impact went beyond traditional statistics, though, as he frequently attracted double teams.
