IOWA CITY — Kaleb Johnson now is alone as Iowa football’s first-team running back on the team’s Week 3 depth chart, which was released Monday afternoon.
It is a change from Week 2, when the first-team running back was Kamari Moulton “or” Johnson. It follows Johnson’s 187-yard performance against Iowa State. He averaged 7.5 yards per carry and was responsible for both of Iowa’s touchdowns in the 20-19 loss.
Johnson ranks fourth nationally with 153 rushing yards per game through two weeks of the 2024 season. He had 119 rushing yards in the season opener against Illinois State despite not playing at all in the first half.
Iowa’s Week 3 depth chart otherwise does not have any changes.
Quarterback Cade McNamara, as Ferentz signaled after Saturday’s game, remains the first-team quarterback despite his 13-of-29 performance against Iowa State. He had only 19 passing yards in the second half.
Wide receiver Seth Anderson, who has been out with an injury for Iowa’s first two games, still has not returned to the depth chart.
