Iowa’s Cooper DeJean, Tory Taylor are finalists for prestigious awards
DeJean is a Jim Thorpe Award finalist despite playing just 10 games. Taylor is one of the three candidates for the Ray Guy Award.

Iowa’s Cooper DeJean and Tory Taylor are finalists for big national awards.
DeJean is one of the three finalists for the Jim Thorpe Award which goes to the nation’s top defensive back. The others are Trey Taylor of Air Force and Malaki Starks of Georgia.
DeJean suffered a season-ending injury and didn’t play in Iowa’s last two games.
Taylor is a finalist for the Ray Guy Award, which goes to the nation’s top punter. He is joined by Matt Haybell of Vanderbilt and Alex Mastromanno of Florida State.
Taylor averages 47.7 yards on a national-high 79 punts. Haybell averages 47.6 yards on 57 punts, Mastromanno 46.0 yards on 51 punts.
