IOWA CITY — Running back Kaleb Johnson will not play in Iowa football’s game Saturday against Western Michigan, according to the Big Ten-mandated pregame availability report.
The full report is below. First-team players are indicated with an asterisk.
Out
- RB Kaleb Johnson*
- WR Jacob Bostick
- WR Reese Osgood
- OL Asher Fahey
- DL Chris Reames
- DL Noah Shannon* (full season)
Questionable
- LB Jaxon Rexroth
Cornerback Jermari Harris is expected to make his season debut after missing the first two weeks with a suspension. He missed all of last season with an injury.
With Johnson out, Leshon Williams, Jaziun Patterson and perhaps one of the two true freshmen — Kamari Moulton or Terrell Washington — could see larger roles at running back.
This marks the first week that quarterback Cade McNamara is not listed as questionable. He played in both of the Hawkeyes’ first two games and completed 55.8 percent of his passes while throwing two touchdowns and one interception.
