The Iowa Hawkeyes (7-5) wrap up their 2022 football season in Nashville on Saturday when they take on the Kentucky Wildcats (7-5) in the Music City Bowl. It’s the second straight season these teams have met — Kentucky won the 2022 Citrus Bowl, 20-17.
Here are our predictions, plus viewing information and complete pregame coverage.
Iowa vs. Kentucky Music City Bowl predictions
Line — Iowa -2.5
Mike Hlas — My New Year’s resolution: Chew my toys instead of the furniture. Wait. That’s my dog’s New Year’s resolution. Iowa 8, Kentucky 5
John Steppe — If Joe Labas is as good in his debut as Spencer Petras and Co. were this week during the songwriting competition, the Hawkeyes will be in good shape. I am yet to discover any correlation between those things, though. Iowa 20, Kentucky 17
Jeff Johnson — This game seems like a sequel to “Dude, Where’s My Car?” a movie I admit I saw in the theater but left before it was over because it was so bad. “Dude, Seriously, Where’s My Car?” Or, dude, seriously, why are these teams playing again? Kentucky 21, Iowa 6
Rob Gray — Who wants to be in Nashville more? Can the Wildcats find the few flaws in the Hawkeyes’ defense? Can Iowa’s offense do enough around its formerly third-string QB? Inquiring (and hyper-local) minds want to know. Iowa 21, Kentucky 20
Beth Malicki — Traveling to the tropics with 17 family members is a true test. We laughed more than we bickered and no one ended up in the ER! Iowa 23, Kentucky 20
Todd Brommelkamp — There are a lot of fun things to do in Nashville. Going to this game wouldn’t crack my Top 50. Iowa 17, Kentucky 7
