IOWA CITY — Iowa offensive lineman Nick DeJong will return for his sixth and final year of college eligibility, he announced Saturday on his Instagram account.
DeJong, who has started in 24 games in his Iowa career at several different positions on the offensive line, will give the Hawkeyes’ another veteran option in 2024. The only starting offensive lineman to be out of eligibility for 2024 is Rusty Feth.
DeJong, a Pella native, was an all-Big Ten honorable mention this season.
DeJong is the first senior to announce plans to return for his extra COVID-19 year of eligibility. Key players with looming decisions include defensive back Sebastian Castro and linebacker Jay Higgins.
