IOWA CITY — Iowa moved up one spot from No. 17 to No. 16 in the second-last College Football Playoff rankings of the 2023 season.
Iowa’s slight rise in the polls follows its 13-10 win at Nebraska to conclude the regular season with a 10-2 overall record. The one-spot improvement is a week after Iowa fell one spot (from No. 16 to No. 17) following its narrow win over Illinois.
Other Big Ten teams ranked in the CFP Top 25 include No. 2 Michigan, No. 6 Ohio State and No. 10 Penn State. The Hawkeyes are heavy underdogs against Michigan in Saturday’s Big Ten championship game.
The CFP again ranked Iowa above the AP Poll, which ranked the Hawkeyes at No. 18 this week.
The final CFP rankings of the 2023 season will be unveiled Sunday after this weekend’s conference championship games.
