IOWA CITY — Iowa football has not publicly named a starting quarterback yet for its upcoming game against Northwestern.
Monday’s depth chart lists the starter as Spencer Petras or Alex Padilla. It’s a change from past depth charts, which listed Petras as the first-team quarterback and Padilla as the second-team quarterback.
Iowa sidelined Petras after he went 6-for-14 for 49 yards and had two interceptions and a fumble against No. 2 Ohio State. Alex Padilla went 5-for-10 for 32 yards with one interception.
It was Padilla’s first in-game action since last year’s Big Ten championship. Petras has completed 53 percent of his passes while throwing two touchdowns and five interceptions this season.
Other depth chart notes
- Matt Fagan replaced Gennings Dunker as the second-team right guard. It’s unclear whether it is injury-related or performance-related.
- Defensive back Terry Roberts is not yet on the depth chart as he recovers from an injury in Iowa’s Oct. 8 loss to Illinois.
