IOWA CITY — Iowa football did not list quarterback Cade McNamara or running backs Kaleb Johnson and Jaziun Patterson on its depth chart ahead of Saturday’s game against Purdue.
McNamara, the Michigan transfer and former third-team all-Big Ten honoree, exited the Michigan State game with an injury to his left leg that required him to be carted to the locker room. He was later on crutches.
Deacon Hill, who took over for McNamara during the Michigan State game, remains the No. 1 quarterback. Joe Labas, the starter in last year’s Music City Bowl, is the second-team quarterback.
Johnson has missed Iowa’s last three games with an ankle injury. Patterson, who also is dealing with a lower-body injury, has missed Iowa’s last two games.
With two of Iowa’s top three running backs not on the depth chart, Leshon Williams is the clear No. 1 running back. True freshmen Kamari Moulton and Terrell Washington Jr. are behind Williams on the depth chart.
Offensive lineman Nick DeJong exited the Michigan State game with an injury, but is back on the depth chart this week.
