IOWA CITY — Iowa football’s Sept. 30 home game against Michigan State will kick off at 6:30 p.m., the team announced Monday. NBC will broadcast the game.
It will mark the third game this season where Iowa has been on a major network.
Michigan State is off to a 2-1 start to the season. The one loss was a 41-7 rout by No. 8 Washington. The Spartans won against Central Michigan and Richmond.
Head coach Mel Tucker is suspended without pay amid allegations of sexually harassing rape survivor and activist Brenda Tracy. Harlon Barnett has served as interim head coach, and former head coach Mark Dantonio has been assisting.
Iowa has a 24-22-2 advantage in the all-time series. ESPN Analytics gives the Hawkeyes a 70 percent chance of defeating the Spartans.
The Sept. 30 game will begin a stretch of three home games in four weeks until Iowa’s late-October idle week.
