IOWA CITY — Iowa football will play Western Michigan in 2028, the team announced in a tweet Friday.
The game, which will be at Kinnick Stadium, is Iowa’s first matchup of 2028 to be announced. The Broncos also will visit Kinnick in the first week of the 2023 season.
Western Michigan has a 2-1 lead in the all-time series with Iowa. The Hawkeyes suffered a 27-21 upset to the MAC team in 2000 and a 28-19 upset in 2007. Iowa won the most recent matchup, though — a 59-3 rout in 2013.
