IOWA CITY — Iowa will be playing Friday night football again in 2024.
The Hawkeyes’ Nov. 8 road game at UCLA will be a Friday game, the conference announced Wednesday. It will be a 8 p.m. Central Time kickoff airing on Fox.
It will be Iowa’s first Friday night game since its 2021 trip to Maryland, which resulted in a 51-14 rout over the Terrapins. Iowa also won handily its 2020 Friday night game — a 35-7 victory over Minnesota.
This year’s Iowa-UCLA game will be the Hawkeyes’ first game against the Bruins in Pasadena since 1986. Iowa’s most recent visit to Pasadena was the 2016 Rose Bowl — when Stanford’s Christan McCaffrey led the Cardinal to a 45-16 blowout win over the Hawkeyes.
Iowa will play one other Friday game in 2024 — its annual Black Friday game against Nebraska. The game time and TV assignment for the rivalry game at Kinnick, along with select other games, will be released next week.
The rest of the start times and TV assignments will be announced as the season progresses. This marks the second season for the Big Ten under its seven-year TV rights agreement with Fox, CBS and NBC.
