IOWA CITY — Iowa football is no longer a ranked team.
The Hawkeyes, previously ranked No. 21, fell out of the Associated Press Poll one day after blowing a 13-point halftime lead and suffering a 20-19 loss to then-unranked Iowa State.
Iowa still received 24 votes, putting the Hawkeyes unofficially at No. 32. Six Big Ten teams were ranked -- No. 2 Ohio State, No. 8 Penn State, No. 9 Oregon, No. 11 USC, No. 17 Michigan and No. 23 Nebraska. Ohio State and Nebraska are the only ranked teams remaining on Iowa’s 2024 regular-season schedule.
Iowa State, meanwhile, entered the poll for the first time this season after its win over Iowa. The Cyclones are No. 21. They previously received votes, but were not ranked.
