IOWA CITY — Former Michigan tight end Erick All Jr. committed to Iowa football via the transfer portal, he announced Wednesday on his Instagram and Twitter accounts.
As former Michigan quarterback Cade McNamara takes the reins at quarterback, he will have one of his top targets from his former school.
All, who was roommates with McNamara and a fellow co-captain, had 38 catches for 437 yards in 2021. Both numbers were second-best on the Wolverines behind wide receiver Cornelius Johnson.
All appeared in three games in 2022 before suffering a season-ending injury. He had three receptions for 36 yards.
The 2021 all-Big Ten honorable mention is expected to have two years of eligibility remaining, including his extra COVID-19 year.
All became the second player to commit to Iowa from the transfer portal this month. Notre Dame and Washington were All’s other two finalists, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Tight end is expected to be a position of strength for Iowa in 2023 as All joins Luke Lachey, who had a breakout season in 2022.
Lachey caught 25 passes for 362 yards this season and had a team-high three touchdown receptions.
