Keokuk (Iowa) High School has hired former Iowa Hawkeyes All-Big Ten wide receiver Marvin McNutt as its head varsity football coach.
McNutt, a St. Louis native, played for Iowa from 2008-2011. He was the Big Ten’s Wide Receiver of the Year as a senior in 2011 when he had 12 touchdown catches and 1,315 receiving yards, Hawkeye records that still stand.
He also leads Iowa in career touchdown catches (28) and receiving yards (2,861), and shares the program’s single-season mark for receptions with 82.
McNutt played in five NFL games before his playing career ended. He was head coach and general manager of the an Indoor Football League team in 2017 and later was the wide receivers coach at Coe College.
An introductory news conference for McNutt will be held at Keokuk High Friday morning.
