Some Iowa fans left Carver or their TVs early Saturday, and they have regrets

I asked for their stories and I promised not to mock them. They didn’t do anything unreasonable, and they have admitted their errors.

Let’s proceed with a sampling of respondents who turned away from Iowa’s comeback 112-106 overtime men’s basketball win over Michigan State Saturday in Iowa City, and let us thank them for their candor and humility.

Late Saturday, I got this email from Aaron Lord:

Left at the timeout with a minute and a half left. Apparently walked up the stairs during the staredown. Talked about the disappointment of what we could have been this year on our way to the truck and eventually The Vine. Never turned on Dolph. Got close enough in the line to see Payton hit the 3 to tie it up on TV. My dad was convinced this was a replay of a previous game until I showed him my phone. I'm 30 and I will feel pain for this for the rest of my life.
