Seydou Traore’s time with the Iowa men’s basketball program will be one season.
Multiple sources reported Thursday that the 6-foot-7 forward from New York City has entered the NCAA transfer portal. He played in 27 games for the Hawkeyes this season, starting 12. He averaged 5.9 points and 3.0 rebounds.
Traore transferred to Iowa from Manhattan College, where he averaged 11.8 points and 8.2 rebounds as a freshman.
Traore has two seasons of eligibility left. He is the 10th player to enter the transfer portal since it opened to Iowa players after Fran McCaffery was fired as coach. Cooper Koch is the only one of the 10 to exit the portal and remain with the Hawkeyes thus far.
The other eight are Ladji Dembele, Josh Dix, Owen Freeman (joining Creighton), Brock Harding (TCU), Luk Laketa, Riley Mulvey (Siena), Pryce Sandfort and Chris Tadjo.
