What: No. 6 Iowa (24-4 overall, 13-3 Big Ten) vs. Minnesota (15-12, 5-11)
When/where: 8 p.m. Wednesday, Williams Arena, Minneapolis
TV/streaming: Peacock
Radio: Hawkeye Radio Network affiliates
Iowa’s next game: Ohio State, noon, Sunday
What to know: Iowa still has a slim chance (5.8 percent, according to Warren Nolan) to earn a Big Ten regular-season title share. For that to happen, the Hawkeyes must win at Minnesota, Ohio State must lose at home against Michigan, and Iowa must beat the Buckeyes on Sunday.
Iowa beat Minnesota, 94-71, on Dec. 30. The Hawkeyes built a 25-12 lead after a quarter, and it was 49-31 at halftime. Caitlin Clark scored 35 points in that game.
Clark owns the NCAA women’s basketball scoring record, with 3,617 points. Prior to the NCAA, there was the AIAW, in which Lynnette Woodard (Kansas, 1977-81) scored 3,649 points. Pete Maravich is the leading NCAA men’s player of all-time, with 3,667 points.
Iowa’s Caitlin Clark is averaging 32.1 points and 8.5 assists per game, and leads the nation in both categories.
Gabbie Marshall needs three points to reach the 1,000-point mark for her Iowa career.
Once 4-3 in the Big Ten, Minnesota has lost eight of its last nine games. A chief reason for the Gophers’ slide is the absence of leading scorer Mara Braun (17.8 ppg) with a foot injury.
Of the Gophers’ active players, Grace Grocholski leads at 11.5 ppg.
