When/where: 6 p.m. Saturday, Wells Fargo Arena, Des Moines

What to know: After winning its Big Ten opener (87-65 at Wisconsin on Sunday), the Hawkeyes play two non-conference games, then hit the league slate again for good Dec. 30 at home against Minnesota.
Saturday’s encounter is the first between the Hawkeyes and Cleveland State. The Vikings were 30-5 last year and qualified for the NCAA tournament.
Cleveland State has won nine straight games since a season-opening loss to Bowling Green, the last four since a season-ending injury to leading scorer Destiny Leo (20.6 ppg).
Iowa’s Caitlin Clark is in the top 20 all-time in three major career categories — points (10th, 3,041), assists (18th, 879) and 3-pointers (14th, 394). Clark grew up about 15 minutes from Wells Fargo Arena.
Clark leads the nation in scoring (29.5 points per game) and is fifth in assists (7.8 per game). If Sharon Goodman had enough attempts to qualify, she would be fifth nationally in field-goal percentage (.700).
In her second game back from injury, Hannah Stuelke registered 21 points against Wisconsin, one shy of her season high.
