What to know: Kansas State handed Iowa its first loss of the 2022-23 season, 84-83, at Manhattan behind Gabby Gregory’s 24 points.
The Wildcats have one of the nation’s premier posts in 6-foot-6 Ayoka Lee (23.0 ppg), who set the NCAA Division-I record for points in a single game (61) in 2022. Lee missed the 2022-23 season with a torn ACL.
Iowa’s Caitlin Clark, the reigning national player of the year, moved to No. 1 on the Hawkeyes’ all-time career scoring chart Sunday. Her 24 points at UNI gave her 2,813 for her career, surpassing Megan Gustafson (2015-19), who scored 2,804.
Clark is No. 2 nationally in scoring this season (32.0 ppg) and No. 2 in assists (9.0 per game). Her assist-to-turnover count is 27-to-4.
After going scoreless in the first two games, Gabbie Marshall busted out with 17 points Sunday.
Iowa is scoring 92.0 points per game; K-State is No. 3 nationally in scoring defense, at 37.0 points per game allowed.
