What to know: Iowa has won nine in a row in the series, now tied at 40 victories apiece. The last six wins have been by double digits.
The Hawkeyes have answered a three-game losing streak with back-to-back wins. They defeated Nebraska 80-67 Monday afternoon in a game that wasn’t nearly that close.
Ava Heiden (27 points) matched a career-high (on 12-of-15 shooting) and Taylor Stremlow established a new career-best with 17.
Heiden has been named to the Naismith Trophy late-season team. The sophomore post averages 16.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while shooting 64 percent from the floor. Her field goal percentage ranks fifth nationally and second in the Big Ten.
Purdue has assembled a respectable 11-4 record at Mackey. The Boilermakers are coming off a 72-57 home win over Rutgers, one which snapped a four-game losing streak.
Redshirt junior guard Tara Daye paced the Boilermakers are 12.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Daye started her career at DePaul, then played two seasons at St. John’s.
