The Associated Press preseason women’s basketball poll is scheduled to be released Oct. 17.
I have been selected to be among the 30 voters on the panel again this season.
With the increasing volume of transfer-portal transactions, putting together a preseason list becomes more challenging every year, and doing a “way-too-early” ballot in April is an exercise in futility.
So, after a process of wading through statistics of all of the 2023 NCAA tournament teams, looking through their returning rosters and transfer additions/subtractions, the following is my preseason top 25, submitted Thursday to the AP bureau:
