Iowa’s Hannah Stuelke is named to the preseason all-Big Ten women’s basketball team

IOWA CITY — Hannah Stuelke has been selected as part of the 10-player Big Ten preseason women’s basketball team by both the coaches and the media.

A 6-foot-2 senior from Cedar Rapids, Stuelke averaged 12.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game last season in leading the Hawkeyes to a 23-11 record and the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Both entities selected UCLA’s Lauren Betts as the preseason player of the year, and both selected the Bruins as the favorite to capture the conference championship.

The coaches’ preseason poll ranked Maryland second, followed by Michigan, USC and Ohio State.

The media poll flip-flopped USC and Michigan.
