The last 20 meetings between Iowa and Ohio State have been split, but Iowa’s won three of the last four meetings at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. A win over the Buckeyes would secure Iowa’s first 20-win season since the 2021-22 season.
Ohio State guard Bruce Thornton leads the Buckeyes with 20.4 points per game, rebounding with 5.4 boards per game and steals with 1.3 per game. He’s reached 20-plus points in games 13 times this season, and is second to Iowa guard Bennett Stirtz in minutes.
“He’s a big, physical guard,” Hawkeye head coach Ben McCollum said. “Plays with excellent pace and patience. He can guard his position, he can obviously shoot and they run a lot of things through him.”
Ohio State has also played without guard John Mobley Jr., who’s missed the last three games with an injury. He’s averaging 15.1 points per game. The Buckeyes have two other players averaging double figures per game — Devin Royal, scoring 14 per game, and Chistopher Tilly, averaging 11.3 per game.
