Confirmed by Duke men’s basketball’s Twitter feed, the Iowa men’s basketball team will play Duke in the Jimmy V Classic at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Dec. 6.
The Hawkeyes and Blue Devils haven’t met since 2001 in Chicago. Before that, they faced each other in New Orleans, Minneapolis, Honolulu and Anchorage, Alaska.
Under first-year head coach Jon Scheyer, Duke will feature the No. 1-ranked 2022 recruiting class.
Texas and Illinois reportedly will be in the other game in the doubleheader. Times and television will be announced later.
Duke guard Jeremy Roach (3) scores against North Carolina during a national semifinal game at the men’s 2022 Final Four game in New Orleans on April 2. Roach returns for the 2022-23 season. (Gerald Herbert/Associated Press)
