From Amarillo via Philadelphia and Manhattan (Kan.), 3-point specialist Brendan Hausen is riding into Iowa City.
Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reported Monday that Hausen, a 6-foot-4 guard from Amarillo, Texas, is joining the Iowa men’s basketball program after two years with Villanova and one with Kansas State.
He averaged 10.9 points for Kansas State in the 2024-25 season. Of his 277 field goal attempts, 232 were 3-pointers. He made 90 for 38.8 percent. That put him at third in the Big 12 Conference in percentage and fourth in made threes for the 16-17 Wildcats.
Hausen left Villanova after playing in 66 games over two seasons, making 88 of 193 threes in that time.
He was originally recruited to Villanova by Jay Wright before Wright retired.
Hausen is the sixth transfer added to the Hawkeyes’ roster by new coach Ben McCollum, and the first who wasn’t on McCollum’s 2024-25 Drake team.
