What to know: The Hawkeyes are the Spartans are the last two teams to play their Big Ten opener. The other 16 teams have played one game each.
Iowa won last year’s game, 76-73, on Caitlin Clark’s 3-pointer at the horn. The Hawkeyes have won the last four in the series.
Michigan State’s 9-0 start is best in program history. The Spartans are one of four unbeaten Big Ten teams.
Iowa rallied from a 10-point third-quarter deficit to beat No. 18 Iowa State, 75-69, Wednesday. Lucy Olsen led the Hawkeyes with 25 points, and Sydney Affolter had her best game of the season, scoring 16.
The Spartans broke a school record last Sunday, blocking 14 shots in an 89-61 win over DePaul.
Veteran guard Julia Ayrault leads the Spartans at 16.4 points per game. Grace Van Slooten, a transfer from Oregon, adds 15.5 ppg.
