What to know: It’s all Big Ten play from now until the postseason for Iowa, which enters this game with three straight wins.
The Hawkeyes’ two conference games early last month were decided in the last five seconds. Josh Dix made a last-second 3-pointer to beat Northwestern, then Iowa lost at Michigan on a Wolverine basket with 4.6 seconds left in the Hawkeyes’ only true road game to date.
Wisconsin’s three losses were in succession, to ranked teams Michigan, Marquette and Illinois. The Badgers have wins over Arizona, Pittsburgh and Butler.
The Badgers start a pair of 7-footers in senior Steven Crowl and sophomore Nolan Winter, who combine for 20 points per game. Their leading scorer is sixth-year senior John Tonje, who averages 19.2 points per game and shoots 94 percent from the foul line. He leads the Big Ten in free throws made and attempted (94 of 100).
Entering 2025, Iowa was second in the Big Ten in made 3-pointers with 10.5 per game. Wisconsin has made a nation-best 85.1 percent of its free throws.
The Badgers recorded 10 nonconference wins for the first time since 2016-17.
Wisconsin has an .838 winning percentage all-time in Kohl Center, the 11th-best home record of any active Division I venue. It has won its three home games against the Hawkeyes.
Two Big Ten players have recorded triple-doubles this week.
