Guard Isaia Howard transferring to Iowa from Drake as Ben McCollum adds another Bulldog
Howard will be a sophomore next season. He scored 3,001 points in high school.

Isaia Howard, a 6-foot-5 guard, is joining his Drake basketball coach at Iowa.
Howard averaged 4.5 points in a reserve’s role for Ben McCollum’s Bulldogs in the 2024-25 season. He had 21 points and six steals in Drake’s Missouri Valley Conference tournament semifinal win over Belmont and scored 11 in the Bulldogs’ title-game win over Bradley.
Howard is from Plattsburg, Mo. He has three seasons of eligibility remaining. He was the 2024 Missouri Class 2 high school Player of the Year after averaging 34.4 points, 13.2 rebounds and 5.6 steals per game.
His prep career totals were 3,001 points and 541 steals.
Thomas joins Drake teammates Kael Combs, Cam Manyawu and Bennett Stirtz on Iowa’s roster. Stirtz was the 2024-25 MVC Player of the Year.
