The week that began with LSU defeating Iowa in the NCAA Division I women’s basketball championship game before a record-crushing television audience ended with both Iowa’s team and LSU star Angel Reese used for laughs on SNL’s Weekend Update.

You know about Reese’s late-game taunting of Iowa’s Caitlin Clark and the fallout from that. I didn’t get wrapped up in it for one simple reason. Namely, life is short.

If what Reese did offended you, today’s mass murder in Louisville, Ky., probably left you too full of rage to read this, so I’ll assume the Reese-Clark-blah-blah-blah was something you got past without becoming too afflicted.
