Joe Toussaint, who played for three seasons on the Iowa men’s basketball team, is transferring from West Virginia but staying in the Big 12 Conference.
Toussaint announced Tuesday that he is moving to Texas Tech for his fifth and final collegiate season.
The New York City native played in 98 games over three seasons for Iowa before joining Bob Huggins’ West Virginia program a year ago. He averaged 9.4 points for the Mountaineers, and played a career-high 21.4 minutes per game for the NCAA tournament team.
Toussaint announced he was transferring in the wake of Huggins’ resignation, and narrowed his choices to Kansas State, Pittsburgh and Texas Tech. He didn’t announce he was officially leaving West Virginia until Monday.
Texas Tech was 16-16 last season.
