Former Hawkeye Luka Garza gets 2-year contract with Minnesota Timberwolves
Iowa’s all-time men’s leading scorer has spent the last two seasons with Minnesota, primarily on two-way contracts

Luka Garza, the consensus men’s basketball National Player of the Year as an Iowa senior in 2021, has signed a two-year contract with the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves. He could have opted for free agency.
Garza came to terms with the Timberwolves Monday morning. He is a three-year pro who was on a two-way contract with Minnesota for most of the last two seasons. He was promoted to a full-time roster spot
In 2023-24, Garza played in 25 games for the Timberwolves, averaging 4.0 points. He has played in 85 NBA games, averaging 5.5 points.
Garza is Iowa’s all-time men’s scoring leader with 2,306 points. He averaged 24.1 points per game as a senior.
