Former Hawkeye Aaliyah Guyton signs to play basketball at Illinois
Peoria native will have three years of eligibility remaining

Aaliyah Guyton will continue her basketball career close to home.
Guyton, who played one season at the University of Iowa, has signed with Illinois.
At Iowa, Guyton played in 29 games, with one start. She was seventh on the team in minutes per game (16.3).
Guyton is a native of Peoria, Ill., which is 89 miles from Champaign.
The 5-foot-7 guard averaged 4.7 points per game, shooting 37.5 percent from the floor and 37.3 percent from 3-point range. She accumulated 33 assists, but committed 49 turnovers.
Guyton came to Iowa as the No. 57 overall prospect in the 2024 class (ESPN.com). She averaged 21.6 points and 3.8 assists as a junior, but missed her senior campaign due to a knee injury.
She will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Illinois’ program is on the rise. The Illini were 22-10 last season and reached the second round of the NCAA tournament. They defeated Iowa, 62-57, Jan. 9 in Champaign.
