Peyton McCollum, the son of Iowa men’s basketball coach Ben McCollum, will join his father’s team this fall.
Peyton McCollum is a 6-foot-2 guard. He averaged 13.1 points and 5.2 points in 2024-25 for Waukee Northwest High, which went 22-4 and reached the state Class 4A championship game. He made 53 of 131 3-pointers (40.5 percent). He averaged 18.1 points as a junior at Maryville (Mo.) High.
McCollum was an Iowa Professional Sports Writers Association first-team all-state selection. He is the 12th player on Iowa’s roster and third Class of 2025 prospect
