They said that Verna was her name
I immediately felt that she would be my flame
I knew that she would pass every test
And for me, she was the very best
When wed, she was dressed in glistening white
Her eyes were bright with her delight
For our wonderful family of three
She was the best a mother could be
As a wife, she had no peers
She dispensed love to all over the years
After 53 years, her God called her back
She died as she lived – at the top of the pack
Verna, I love you.
