Remembering you on your Birthday

It has been three months since you left us and not a day goes by that I don't think about you. About all the great things you've meant to me, our family

and the families of the hundreds of people you

employed over the years at Leonard Feed and Grain and Leonard Express. Your work ethic and tenacity were unrivaled, but your true strength was your

ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Your sense of humor, jovialness and that

"Missouri twang" were things we all cherished.

From the day I was born, you embraced me and loved me as a son, even when it wasn't the most popular. You gave me the gifts that money can't buy, a strong sense of family, character, integrity and loyalty. That was never more evident than in your devotion and unconditional love to your "Fae Baby". Your loving marriage created a very happy childhood for me, and I will always be grateful to both of you for that. Memories of the times we shared together hunting Bigfoot, working on a

suntan, throwing "jimbo" onions or playing pool while listening to Johnny Cash will stay with

me forever. Until we meet again I'll remember "when you wake up, you get up" and "five o'clock comes early."

- Happy Birthday, with all my love,

Sprout
