Celebrate the Life and Times of
Leo Sutter
1920 - 2019
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Leo from
2 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at VFW Post 788, 3240 Southgate Pl. SW.
Leo passed away Jan. 12, 2019, at Mercy Hallmar.
Leo was born in Elgin, Iowa. He served in World
War II in the Army in North Africa and Italy, where he received the Purple Heart.
Leo came to Cedar Rapids with his bride, the former Violet Koch, whom he married in 1945. Vi passed away in 2006.
Leo started his long automotive business at Baxter Motors, Sutter's DX, Sutter's 66, the city of Cedar Rapids Streets Department as foreman and, finally, as a greeter/cartman at Randall Foods.
Left to cherish his memory and celebrate his life are Sue Humphrey (Mike), Matt (Val) Humphrey, Hailee Humphrey, Allison Humphrey, Jeff (Mario Radilla), Leigh Sutter; one brother, Don Sutter (Marilana) Sutter of Elgin, Iowa; Erna Koupal (Ken) of Cedar Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
