Joshua Carew
Joshua Albert Carew
Today we honor Joshua Albert Carew's life as a brother, father, friend and political founder/leader of Citizens United for a Better Sierra Leone. The thought of not seeing or hearing him again is still painful. Yet, we wish to use this first-year anniversary to celebrate a life well spent; full of meaning and hope. Even in his passing he stands tall as a beacon that we can hold up, cherish and adore.
As we go through a very difficult phase in the life of our nation, Sierra Leone, West Africa, the memory of Joshua has spurred many of us on, to hold high the values and standards he stood for. In him we can still have hope for the nation, as his vision and mission is succeeded by determined leaders, political members, family and friends in the U.S. and U.K.
So to you the family, friends and members of his political party, we say hold your heads up high, for here was one that stood among us, and a left us in awe of what we all can do only if we put our hearts to it.
May Joshua Albert Carew's soul rest peacefully and his love remain amongst us.
