Mark Signs from Trees Forever passed along the following request from the Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge near Wapello:
We are looking for volunteers to plant trees at the Louisa division (Odessa) of the refuge on Nov. 9 all day. We have 416 container trees to plant. Our staff and some other volunteers will be there, but 1 or 2 more people wouldn't hurt. We will also be planting some trees on the Iowa River Corridor with the DNR up near Belle Plaine in November, but I don't have a date yet. We have 250 trees there. If you could pass this on to see if anyone is interested in volunteering that day, I would appreciate it. They could just call the office at 319-523-6982 for details if interested. Thanks.
