Speech Scuffle
Senator John Culver D-Iowa (left), grabs the arms of independent senate candidate Garry DeYoung of Hull, Iowa, after DeYoung had charged the podium October 28, 1980, during Culver's speech at the University of Northern Iowa. Culver and an aide wrestled DeYoung to the floor. DeYoung was taken away by security officers. The speech was delayed half an hour. John Culver is the father of current Iowa Governor Chet Culver.
