An administrator from Minnesota State University in Mankato who is also a University of Iowa graduate is the first of three finalists to become the UI's next vice president for strategic communication.
Jeff Iseminger, interim vice president for university advancement and marketing at Minnesota State University in Mankato, will visit the UI Thursday. Iseminger will take part in a public forum from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday in 2520 University Capitol Centre.
The other two finalists, whose names will be announced a day before their visits, are scheduled to be on campus next week and will participate in forums July 15 and 17.
Mark Braun, chief of staff to UI President Sally Mason, has filled the position on an interim basis since the former vice president Tysen Kendig left in December.
Iseminger has headed Minnesota State's integrated marketing program for the past nine years and was named interim vice president for advancement in May. He has worked in communications at Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, England, and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
He has a master's degree in journalism and cultural anthropology from the University of Wisconsin and a bachelor's degree in political science from the UI.
