University of Northern Iowa faculty have reached a new contract agreement with the state Board of Regents, officials said Friday.
The two-year collective bargaining agreement between UNI's United Faculty and the regents takes effect July 1, 2013.
The contract will now go to the United Faculty members and the board of regents for final approval, officials said.
Leaders of the bargaining group on both sides said in a joint statement they are happy to have reached agreement.
"United Faculty, the Board of Regents and university administration look forward to continuing to work together in the best interests of the university," the joint statement said.
