Cedar Rapids Prairie announced Tuesday that it has hired Todd Kuntz to lead its varsity boys’ basketball program. Kuntz comes to Prairie from Dunkerton, where he had a state tournament team this past season.
After 24 years at Cedar Rapids Kennedy, including 16 as the athletics director, Aaron Stecker will leave in June to become a director and “AD in Residence” for Bound, a digital platform based around high school activities.
Even with the departure of state singles and doubles champions, the Cedar Rapids Xavier girls’ tennis team hasn’t dropped off in 2023.
There are four classifications in Iowa high school boys’ soccer for the first time this season, meaning an additional eight state tournament qualifiers for a total of 32. Tuesday, the substate brackets to determine those 32 qualifiers were released by the IHSAA.
