Williamsburg toppled two ranked teams to reach the Class 2A state baseball tournament in Carroll. Fifth-ranked and second-seeded Underwood stopped the streak with a 7-2 lead.
Second-ranked North Linn edged No. 8 Sigourney, 1-0, in Tuesday’s Class 1A state-softball quarterfinal at the Rogers Sports Complex. The Lynx (37-6) won it on an unearned run in the bottom of the eighth, when Kenzie Bridgewater delivered the winning infield single with two outs.
